Best of 2016: The Makeup Edit
I can’t believe another year has come and gone. This year has gone by especially fast because we had our daughter this year! Having a baby is the best thing ever but it makes time go by so fast, it’s crazy. Today I’m sharing my absolute favorite products from 2016. I tried my hardest to keep it to one product per category but it was so hard. These are my ride or die products from the last year, let me know in the comments what your favorite products were! Cheers to 2017!
Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer
This is amazing because it’s a creamy skin balancing primer, it doesn’t dry my skin out or leave a weird texture. My face feels amazing after applying this and I like wearing it alone too, not just under makeup.
Cover FX Illuminating Primer
By far my favorite illuminating primer, this one is so good! I love that it gives me such a luminous glow without being unnatural looking.
Purlisse BB Cream
I have a full review on this here. I had to choose this one because I used it exclusively for about 7 months. It gives a natural light to medium coverage with a luminous, pretty finish. It also has SPF so you can’t go wrong!
Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer
This is such an affordable great under eye brightening concealer, I use it alllllll the time. I apply it with the brush and then blend it out with a damp beauty blender.
Bye Bye Under Eye
This one has always been one of my faves. I love how full coverage it is, just make sure you use only a tiny bit and set it with a powder.
This is my amazing go to concealer for blemishes because it heals them and conceals.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil
This is so blendable and natural looking, it never disappoints and smells like chocolate. #winwin
Dirty Little Secret Baked Highlighter in shade Bellissima
Yes, this is a highlighter but I don’t always wear blush. This is a gorgeous rose gold glow and perfect for cheeks.
Algenist Illuminating Drops
These drops from their Reveal line are amazing. I’ve talked about them a lot here on B&B and on my YouTube channel. There are three beautiful shades that you can mix in with your foundation, apply alone or on top of foundation, or use on your lids for a shadow or shadow base.
Almay Brow Defining Pencil
This pencil was the perfect shade and formula. I’m obsessed with the skinny brow pencils because they look so natural. I also love the spooly brush on the end of this pencil.
It Cosmetics Brow Power
I always go back to my brow power. The shade is universal taupe so I can adjust it if I want. I also love that it stays all day and looks natural.
Urban Decay Perversion
This is another product I always go back to again and again. I just love the formula and brush. & when I use a primer with it I look like I have falsies on.
Lancome Lash Primer
This is an amaiiiiiiizing primer. I can’t live without it on special events or just when I want super huge lashes. It pairs like a dream with my UD Perversion.
Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte in shade Nude
This is such an amazing formula because it’s a matte without being drying. The shade is also on point.
Bare Minerals Gen Nude Mattes
These are sooooo great! I love that they are easy to apply and stay put.
Juice Beauty Sheer Lip Gloss
These glosses are my faves because they’re organic, so hydrating, and good for your skin.
All of these products are linked above and they are also in my “favorites” store here, or on the “shop” tab above.
What were your favorites of 2016?
Have a great day!
I need to try the nude lipstick! Great post <3
