Hands down the best product I have found to help combat dry winter skin is a hydrating toner. It easily adds moisture within seconds and can be used at any point in the day. Routinely I use it after I cleanse my skin and before I moisturize, but additionally it can be used at any time of the day under or on top of makeup, it can even help set your makeup and add a glow.
Dry skin secret weapon + how to make sure your products are safe
My favorite toner is Skin Resource.MD’s Visibly Moist Toner. It’s clean beauty approved and it has lavender oil and rose oil.
Now let’s talk about clean beauty and how to make sure you are using safe products. The first thing I do to make sure my product is safe is read the label, I have a list in the back of my mind of ingredients that I never want in my skincare like parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrance or colors. The second thing I do is scan the product on the Think Dirty app if it’s not on there I just look up the ingredients on skincarisma.com. This gives you a detailed list of the ingredients and their safety level.
Here are a few ingredients that should never be in skincare
- artificial fragrance
- artificial colorants
- sodium lauryl sulfate
- Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)
If you aren’t scanning your products and checking them for ingredients that could be disrupting your hormones, and causing other health issues what are you waiting for!? It’s so easy and only takes a few minutes.
I hope this post was helpful. Have you tried the Visibly Moist Toner yet? Let me know if you’ve used it or ordered it. I love hearing your testimonies on Skin Resource.MD products.
