Essential Oils 2 Month Update | Wellness Wednesday
Hey, friends! I can’t believe we’re already in mid-April! My birthday is coming up quick and it’s my last birthday with a 2 in front of it so I’m going to make it a good one! Anyways mid-March also means that I have been using my essential oils for 2 months. I am beyond excited this journey and am loving everything about them. My favorite part is that it’s been a whole lifestyle change not just for me but for my whole family. Oils have taken up such a huge part of our lives and make me want to be more healthy overall! It’s definitely a lifestyle guys, and I AM LOVING IT.
I filmed an update as soon as I got my starter kit (the best way to dive into oils) to show you what all came with it. Today I’m going to update you on what I’ve been using the most and what has changed our lives the most.
Essential Oils 2 Month Update | Wellness Wednesday
Headaches
I haven’t used Tylenol for headaches since using oils. I have a roller for headaches and also for sore muscles so I haven’t had to use any pain meds because my rollers work so well. My husband also uses the headache roller and loves it. My headache roller has peppermint and lavender.
Tummy Issues
I’ve had stomach issues since I can remember. Probiotics help a ton but I still need a little help occasionally. I would just pop a couple of tums until I discovered digize. This is an oil that comes in the starter kit and I’m so glad because I use it about 5 times a week. I made a roller with it so it’s super easy to use and it works for gas, bloating, heartburn, acid reflux, etc.
Back Pain
I remember this with Emery but my back has hurt so much lately from breastfeeding with bad posture and lugging around the heavy car seat. I have a roller with panaway (also in the starter kit) and copaiba (that I got from my friend Sam) and it works SO WELL. I use it at night when I’m going to bed if my back is sore and also throughout the day if I’m sitting at the computer and my back tightens up. This along with the Chiropractor is amazing.
Cradle Cap
Both of the girls had cradle cap and I’m pretty sure most babies get it. It’s just flaky dry skin on the top of their heads. If you don’t let it get too bad it’s pretty easy to take care of. I made a dropper bottle with coconut oil, 1-2 drops of lavender, and I think 1-2 drops of Frankincense, applied it all over her head, let it soak for 10-15 min, then washed her hair a couple of times to get it all out. After that, her cradle cap was completely gone. She gets a little bit occasionally and I just repeat those steps and it’s gone!
SLEEP
This has been a huge game-changer because this one helps everyone in the house. I use sleepytime rollers on everyone and diffuse lavender, peace and calming, or stress away every night. Emery has a diffuser in her room and her own set of rollers. Zara has a super diluted roller (1 drop lavender per 30ml coconut oil) and is around the diffuser for a few mins (she doesn’t have one in her room yet). We have a diffuser in our room and we also have nighttime rollers.
Non-Toxic Scents for House
I thought I would miss candles but I don’t at all. We’ll see when fall comes around because that’s my favorite time to burn them but I’m sure I’ll come up with a perfect fall blend to diffuse instead. Candles are toxic yall, look them up, do your research (they’ve also been deemed just as bad for you as second-hand smoke, SCARY) I don’t to be breathing in that stuff let alone my girls!
Laundry Dryer Balls
Another huge one for me is switching to wool dryer balls. Dryer sheets are TOXIC. Look yours up, you probably won’t even be able to find the ingredients very easily because they’re not on the box (WHY IS THAT?) I had to look mine up online and it wasn’t easy. I always had “free & clear” laundry stuff because I thought it was safe but that’s not always the case. I just have a pack of dryer balls from Amazon and add a couple of drops of EO to each one (I use 3-4 per load). You can also use the dryer balls and a few drops of Purification essential oil to refresh a load of laundry that you left in the washer overnight, genius.
Car Diffuser
This one is super cool and it took me a while to find a good car diffuser. I like diffusing stress away in the car, or purification. It’s like a car freshener x10 without the toxins. I’ll link my diffuser below, you need it in your life.
Rollers for Anxiety
I’ve had anxiety for years. Oils have done wonders and I can go into details later (it could be a whole post) but just trust me, if you have anxiety, you need oils. I have a couple of different ones that I like to use, one has valor and the other one has stress away. Lavender is also a big one that I use a ton.
Learning About Emotions/etc
Educating myself has been so much fun and if you join my team then you’ll have all the resources I have as well. We have facebook groups, resource pages, videos, classes, etc. It’s awesome and I love learning about emotions, how oils work, how they’re made, etc.
Immune Support
We also all have healthy/immunity rollers. It’s a different dilution for everyone but they all have thieves, citrus fresh, frankincense, and lavender. No one has been sick since using them so fingers crossed they’re what’s working. You can also add a couple of drops of Thieves and lemon to your tea if you’re feeling like you might be getting sick.
I’ve also made makeup brush cleaner, room sprays, serums, oil cleansers, detangling spray/leave-in conditioner, and more. If you join my team and do this oily journey with me I will send you all my favorite ways to use oils and all of my recipes!
