Healthy & Shiny Hair Routine
Hey, guys! Happy Wednesday. It’s our 3rd wedding anniversary today which seems crazy, but we’re not celebrating officially until this weekend. Do you like celebrating anniversaries? What’s your favorite thing you’ve done? Anyways, I get a lot of questions about my hair and how I take care of it, especially since it’s long and highlighted/colored. So I’m going to explain what I get done at the salon and then what I do at home to take care of it.
Salon
The technique I get is balayage. This means the roots are shaded very close to my natural color (and the more it grows out the more it is) and the ends are highlighted (the bleach is painted on). This way it all blends if it’s done well and it’s super low maintenance which is important to me being a busy mom. I get that done about every 8-10 weeks and get a haircut then as well. I also go to an Aveda salon and I always get their conditioning treatment.
Shampoo & Conditioner
I use Renpure 90% of the time. It’s my favorite because its made with coconut oil or coconut milk depending on the one you get. It makes my hair shiny and healthy looking for sure. I also use a clarifying shampoo about once a week, this just removes any product buildup or rust/minerals from our water. The last thing I do is use a purple shampoo about 2 times a week, and this just gets rid of any brassiness (mostly from our water).
Deep Conditioner & Leave-in Conditioner
I use a deep conditioner about once a week, I will link my favorites below in the shop section. I also use a leave-in conditioner everytime I wash my hair. I have a lot of leave-ins because I get a lot of samples but I love the Renpure one below (I just spray a little onto my hair after I towel dry it).
Heat Protection & Misc.
I always always always use a heat protection type of product. My leave in spray by Renpure does the job but I also love the Sexy Hair one too! ALL of the Sexy Hair stuff just smells amaiiiiiizing and makes me happy. I also love a good hair oil or serum. Niucoco’s has been my favorite for a long time, it works well, smells good & has good ingredients. I def recommend their shamp/cond too!

Tips
- I use a tourmaline hair dryer
- I don’t’ brush my hair when it’s wet, I use a wet brush or pic
- I only wash my hair 3 times a week, I use dry shampoo in between
What’s your favorite hair brands? I like a good mix of affordable and splurge-worthy stuff. For example, all the Renpure I use is under $10 but the Sexy Hair can be a little more pricey.
