Today I’m sharing my tips, as a full-time mom, on how I keep my nails looking fresh. As much as I’d love to paint my nails every day to match my outfits I have to keep things real and use nail polish that 1. is easy to apply 2. dries fast 3. lasts as long as possible. Going to the salon every week is not an option either, so that’s where CND™ VINYLUX™ Long Wear Polish comes into play. I love that it gives you the finish of a gel but comes off like a regular nail polish. It’s also infused with Vitamin E, Keratin & Jojoba Oil (and you know I love some added good-for-you ingredients). I’m a nude & pastel nail kind of girl so I love that CND has colors perfect for both staying neutral or going bold check out their Instagram for some inspo. Here is how I keep my nails looking good all week | at home mani.
HOW I KEEP MY NAILS LOOKING GOOD ALL WEEK | AT HOME MANI
First, remove any existing polish and then file, buff & shape your nails how you like.
Apply two thin coats of the CND™ VINYLUX™ polish – I used shade winter glow in this post. I also wanted to note that this formula and brush are SUPER easy to work with and you’ll get a smooth even finish every time.

Finish with a coat of the CND™ VINYLUX™ top coat. This is the best top coat I’ve used and it literally gives you a gel-like finish aka super shiny, smooth and solid.
Then, let your nails dry for 8-10 min (aka have a dance party) – the polish dries completely in under 10 min and that’s another reason I love it, no mama’s got time to let her nails dry for 45 min.
- use a cuticle oil every day to keep your nails looking healthy
- practice makes perfect so if you’re not the best at painting your nails at home just keep doing it (at least once a week) I promise you’ll get better at it
