Hi, pretty! If you read B&B regularly you know that skincare is extremely important to me. There’s nothing more important in my beauty routine than taking care of my skin. To me, the most important thing in skin care is finding what works for you and for your skin. I love trying new skincare products and I also have my all-time favorites that I repurchase over and over again. There are skincare lines for all sorts of skin care types, so find what works for you,[ctt template=”7″ link=”0qz4O” via=”no” ] stay on top of your skincare routine, and you won’t need makeup to look and feel amazing.[/ctt]
I wrote a post on moisturizing and finding your skin type here. Once you know what products to look for, get a routine going that you feel comfortable doing twice a day. Start with just a simple cleanser & moisturizer then add things in like serums and scrubs. Being consistent in taking care of your skin is key.
Scarring from acne isn’t fun. When you do have a breakout make sure you keep it clean, use a q-tip to apply your treatment, and DON’T TOUCH IT. I know it can be really hard not to pick at breakouts but just let the products do their job.
Skincare that brightens will give you a beautiful natural glow. I love Purlisse skincare because it does leave my skin radiant, I wrote a full review on Purlisse here. The Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizers are also amazing for this, there’s a rosy or golden glow. Products with Vitamin C also brighten your skin. I am currently in love with the Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial & the Ole Henriksen truth serum ® collagen booster.
Exfoliating can do your skin wonders. You need to remove the dirt & dead skin cells to reveal the bright, fresh skin once in awhile. There are many ways to exfoliate, I wrote an entire post on exfoliation here.
Sun damage isn’t cute, being “tan” is not worth the damage 20 years down the road. Use an SPF every.single.day, no matter what season it is. Sunscreen isn’t a seasonal thing, wear it every day. I like moisturizers or BB creams with SPF so I don’t have to add another step.
Apply a foundation primer to your skin after moisturizing to smooth skin and blur pores. There are so many great primers in my opinion. My all-time favs are the Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer, Laura Geller Mattifying Primer, & Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Poreless Primer.
Brows are so important, they can make you look completely different. Keeping up on your brows will change your whole look. I wrote a simple brow guide here. I recommend getting a professional wax once or twice a month and then tweezing strays every time you do your makeup. Use a brow gel on days you don’t wear makeup, my FAV is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel.
This is another one that I think people often overlook. I whiten my teeth once every 3 months. I use the Crest 3D 1-Hour Strips I also really LOVE the Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste it actually works. A bright, confident smile will make you feel like a million dollars.
What do you do to look and feel good without makeup?
