For years, I thought better skin meant buying more

For years, I thought better skin meant buying more products and following complicated routines.
What I’ve learned is that healthy skin is built by simple habits you can actually stick with. These are the seven things that have made the biggest difference for me:
💧 1. Stay hydrated.
I keep a water bottle with me everywhere because hydrated skin starts from within. It’s one of the simplest habits, but one I notice when I neglect it. I also love @piquelife hydration packets.
🥩 2. Prioritize protein.
What we eat matters. Focusing on protein at each meal helps support my overall health, and I believe caring for my body from the inside out shows up in my skin too. My face tells on my when I binge on sugar or processed foods.
🥦 3. Eat mostly whole foods.
Instead of chasing the latest “superfood,” I try to build my meals around real, nutrient-dense foods as often as possible.
🧼 4. Keep my skincare routine simple.
I stopped feeling like I needed a dozen products. A gentle, consistent routine works so much better for me than constantly trying new trends. I use a gentle cleanser and a @planttherapy face oil - that’s IT.
✨ 5. Be consistent.
I don’t have a perfect routine, but I do my best to care for my skin every day. Consistency has made a bigger difference than perfection ever did.
☀️ 6. Protect my skin.
Whether it’s seeking shade, wearing a hat, or applying SPF before spending time outdoors, protecting my skin has become an important part of my routine. I love tinted SPF for my foundation and I always keep a sunscreen stick or spray in my purse.
😴 7. Prioritize sleep.
A good night’s sleep impacts so much more than energy levels. When I’m well-rested, I notice the difference in how my skin looks and feels.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned?
Healthy skin doesn’t come from having the most expensive products or the longest routine. It comes from building small habits that fit into your everyday life.
I’d love to know, which one of these habits has made the biggest difference for you? Or is there one you’re working on right now? 💚

The lunchbox they’ll use ALL year long. ☀️🏖️📚🚗
One of my favorite things about these personalized @bentgo lunchboxes is that they aren’t just for back-to-school. We’ve been packing ours for beach days, park picnics, road trips, and summer adventures, and they’ll be just as useful when we start school.
I also love that each girl has her own name on hers, so there’s never any confusion over whose lunchbox is whose.
If you’re already thinking ahead to back-to-school (or just need something for all of your summer outings), these are definitely worth checking out!
Do you pack more lunches during the summer or during the school year?

One question I get all the time is…
“How do I know if an essential oil is good quality?”
As a certified aromatherapist, here are a few things I always look for:
🌿 The botanical (Latin) name on the label
🌎 Information about where the oil was sourced
✔ Companies that are transparent about their testing and quality standards
🟤 Dark glass bottles to help protect the oil
✨ And finally… start simple. You don’t need a huge collection to enjoy the benefits of essential oils.
Learning what to look for helps you make informed decisions and feel more confident as you build your collection.
Save this post for the next time you’re shopping for essential oils, and send it to a friend who’s just getting started!

The Healthy Home Reset: Day 6 Things I stopped buy

The Healthy Home Reset: Day 6
Things I stopped buying after switching to natural living
One thing I wish everyone knew:
Creating a healthier home does NOT mean throwing everything away and starting over. For me, it happened one small swap at a time.
A few things I slowly stopped buying:
❌ Artificial room sprays
→ DIY essential oil sprays
❌ Buying every seasonal candle
→ diffuser blends + homemade scents
❌ Dryer sheets
→ wool dryer balls
❌ Synthetic perfumes/body sprays
→ custom blends
❌ A cabinet full of cleaners
→ a simplified cleaning routine
❌ Heavily fragranced hand soaps
→ ones scented with essential oils
❌ Certain conventional sunscreens
→ mineral sunscreen options
Your home doesn’t have to be perfect to be healthier. Pick one swap, start there, and keep going.
Which swap was the first one you made?

My realistic morning wellness routine ☀️ I spent

My realistic morning wellness routine ☀️
I spent years thinking being “healthy” meant doing everything perfectly.
The perfect workout.
The perfect routine.
The perfect schedule.
But the habits that actually stuck were the simple ones:
☀️ morning light
💧 hydration
🌿 creating a home environment I love
🚶‍♀️ daily movement
🍳 prioritizing protein
✨ small intentional choices
Healthy living isn’t about changing your entire life overnight.
It’s about building little habits that become who you are.
What’s ONE morning habit you can’t live without?

🌿 Healthy Home Reset: Day 3
If I could go back to the beginning of my natural living journey, this is the swap I would make first: ✨fragrance.
I used to think creating a healthier home meant changing EVERYTHING overnight.
But what actually worked?
One small swap at a time.
I started paying attention to the products I was using every day:
→ candles
→ sprays
→ laundry products
→ cleaners
And slowly replaced them with simpler options.
Your home doesn’t have to be perfect to be healthier. Start small 🌿
What’s the first healthy swap you ever made?

🌿 Healthy Home Reset: Day 2
Let’s talk essential oil mistakes 😬
When I first started using oils, I thought:
more drops = better
natural automatically meant safe
I needed ALL the oils
Turns out... not exactly.
After studying aromatherapy and becoming a certified aromatherapist, I learned that essential oils are amazing tools, but learning how to use them correctly makes all the difference.
Save this list if you’re starting your essential oil journey 🌿
And tell me... did you make any of these mistakes too?
Tomorrow for Day 3: the FIRST healthy home swap I’d make if I was starting over 🏡✨

Welcome to The Healthy Home Reset!
10 years ago, I never imagined I’d become a certified aromatherapist or spend my days teaching others about natural living.
Like so many others, I was overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice online. I didn’t know where to start, so I focused on one small change at a time.
Those small changes eventually transformed the way my family lives.
Over the next 30 days, I’m taking you along as I share the simple swaps, wellness habits, essential oil education, and DIY recipes that have made the biggest difference in our home.
No perfection.
No fear.
No pressure.
Just realistic, approachable ways to create a healthier home.
Day 1 starts today.
Tell me in the comments:
What inspired you to start your natural living journey?

I know this might surprise some people, but I have

I know this might surprise some people, but I haven’t used a traditional moisturizer in over a year.
Instead, I’ve been keeping my skincare routine simple with oils. I wash my face with a gentle cleanser then just nourish with oils afterwards. No 10-step routines or fancy serums and my skin has never felt or looked better.
Many moisturizers are water-based and are designed to add water to the skin while using ingredients that help keep that moisture from evaporating.
Facial oils, on the other hand, don’t add water. They’re rich in fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins that help nourish the skin, support the skin barrier, and reduce moisture loss. When your skin barrier is healthy, it can hold onto hydration more effectively.
The Advanced Antioxidant Facial Oil combines nutrient-rich botanical oils with turmeric and vitamin C to help support a healthy-looking, radiant complexion while locking in hydration. I love pairing it with the Frankincense & Argan Roller around my eyes because argan oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, while frankincense is a favorite for supporting mature/aging skin.
Everyone’s skin is different, and facial oils aren’t a replacement for moisturizer in every routine. But for my skin, this combination has provided all the nourishment and barrier support I need.
Have you ever tried replacing your moisturizer with a facial oil?
The oil, roller and gua sha is avail at @planttherapy - link in bio 🦋
