How to Use Simply Earth’s DIY Perfume Kit

Creating your custom fragrance is as easy as 1-2-3, and it’s all about testing and refining the perfect blend of oils. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to crafting your own perfume:

1. Test Different Combinations

• Start with the perfume test strips to explore how different scent combinations play together.
• Add 3 drops of Vanilla Woods to the first strip.
• Add 5 drops of Lava to the second strip.
• For the third strip, try 1 drop of Vanilla Woods + 4 drops of Lava.

Feel free to get creative and experiment with other combinations beyond these! Mixing scents is an art, and this kit encourages you to discover what speaks to you.

2. Blend Your Essential Oils

Once you’ve found your ideal scent, it’s time to mix it into one of the provided perfume bottles:

• Add up to 50 drops of essential oils to the perfume bottle (remember Katie’s tip below!).
• Try a mix of Vanilla Woods and Lava, or experiment with other ratios to create something completely unique.
• Katie’s Tip: Do not exceed 30 drops of Vanilla Woods to avoid irritation. The scent will slightly change once diluted, so keep that in mind as you mix.

3. Add Perfumer’s Alcohol

• Slowly fill the perfume bottle with perfumer’s alcohol to dilute your oils.
• Swirl the bottle gently as you pour to ensure the oils mix well with the alcohol.
• Once filled, replace the cap and continue to swirl the bottle until everything is fully blended and the essential oils are solubilized.

4. Apply and Store Your Perfume

Your custom perfume is now ready to use! Spritz it on your pulse points (wrists, neck, and behind the ears) to experience your unique scent all day long. To ensure longevity and quality, store your perfume in a dark, cool place.

• As you test different combinations, remember that your blend will smell slightly different once diluted with alcohol. Perfume evolves as it interacts with your skin and environment, so allow it to settle before deciding on your final mix.
• Keep in mind the dilution: you shouldn’t exceed 30 drops of Vanilla Woods to prevent irritation, sticking to a 3% dilution for a safe, skin-friendly perfume.
