The Healthy Back-to-School Guide: Our Favorite Products for a Calm, Healthy & Intentional School Year
Back-to-school looks a little different for every family.
Whether your kids are heading back to the classroom, homeschooling, or somewhere in between, I think we can all agree on one thing: having simple routines and the right tools can make a huge difference.
This year, our family is homeschooling, and my goal isn’t to create a Pinterest-perfect classroom. It’s to create a home where my girls feel calm, supported, curious, and excited to learn.
These are the products we’ll be using every week to help make that happen.
Healthy Meals Made Easy
Bentgo Lunch Boxes
Just because we’re homeschooling doesn’t mean we skip packed lunches! I love putting together balanced lunches in our Bentgo lunch boxes because it keeps everything organized and makes lunchtime feel a little more special.
They’re also perfect for:
- Public school lunches
- Field trips
- Park days
- Beach days
- Road trips
- Co-op days
What I love:
- Leakproof compartments
- Easy for kids to open
- Dishwasher safe
- Encourages balanced meals
- Makes meal prep quick and simple
Some of our favorite lunch ideas include turkey roll-ups, berries, cucumbers, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, homemade protein muffins, yogurt, and healthy snacks.
Healthy Hydration
One of the simplest ways to support learning is making sure everyone stays hydrated.
We keep filtered water available all day and everyone has their own water bottle nearby. It sounds simple, but I’ve noticed fewer headaches, better moods, and more energy when we’re all drinking enough water.
Creating a Calm Learning Environment
Our homeschool room isn’t fancy, but I do want it to feel peaceful.
These are a few things that help create that atmosphere.
Plant Therapy Essential Oils
Essential oils are part of our daily routine.
Some of our favorites include:
- Focus Blend during independent work
- Lavender for calm afternoons
- KidSafe Germ Destroyer during back-to-school season
- Lemon for an uplifting morning
- Peppermint when everyone needs a little extra energy
Sometimes I diffuse them, and other times we use roll-ons before starting lessons.
Pure Enrichment Essential Oil Diffuser
The diffuser is usually one of the first things I turn on in the morning.
Some favorite blends:
- Lavender + Sweet Orange
- Lemon + Peppermint
- Focus Blend
- Germ Destroyer
It’s such an easy way to make our learning space feel fresh and inviting.
Pure Enrichment Air Purifier
Since we’re spending several hours learning indoors, I like knowing our air is a little cleaner.
An air purifier helps filter dust, allergens, and everyday particles while keeping the room feeling fresh.
It’s one of those things you don’t necessarily notice—until you don’t have it.
Homeschool Tools That Have Been Game Changers
Kids thrive when they know what to expect.
A few simple tools have made our days feel so much smoother.
Visual Timers
These timers have become one of our favorite homeschool tools.
We use them for:
- Independent work
- Reading time
- Chores
- Screen time
- Cleaning up
- Brain breaks
Instead of constantly saying, “Five more minutes,” the timer helps everyone see exactly how much time is left.
Transitions have become so much easier.
Positive Behavior Reward Tokens
Rather than focusing on correcting behavior all day, I love celebrating positive choices.
We use a reward token system for things like:
- Completing schoolwork
- Being kind to siblings
- Helping around the house
- Staying focused
- Following directions
- Having a good attitude
It’s a simple way to encourage responsibility while keeping things positive and encouraging.
Movement Is Part of Our School Day

One thing we’ve learned is that kids aren’t meant to sit still for hours.
Adding movement throughout the day has helped everyone focus better.
Leaps & Rebounds Mini Trampoline
The mini trampoline is our favorite brain break.
We’ll often stop between subjects for five minutes of jumping before moving on to the next lesson.
Sometimes we’ll even practice spelling words or multiplication facts while bouncing.
Movement really helps reset everyone’s brains.
Indoor Therapy Swing
Our therapy swing has quickly become one of the most-used things in our home.
It’s perfect for:
- Quiet reading
- Sensory breaks
- Emotional regulation
- Relaxing after difficult lessons
- Resetting after frustration
Sometimes all a child needs is a few quiet minutes before they’re ready to learn again.
Our Homeschool Curriculum

This year we’re using Master Books.
One of the reasons we chose it is because it’s open-and-go and leaves room for life.
Instead of spending every minute checking boxes, we have time for:
- Nature walks
- Library trips
- Baking together
- Field trips
- Reading
- Exploring interests
That’s exactly the kind of education we want for our girls.
You can shop Masterbooks right here!
Supporting Mom Matters Too
I truly believe that taking care of myself helps me show up as a more patient mom and teacher.
These are a few things that help me feel my best.

Red Light Therapy
I love using red light therapy first thing in the morning while reading or answering emails.
It’s become one of my favorite ways to ease into the day.

Pranamat
When life feels busy, even 15–20 minutes on my Pranamat helps me relax and recharge.
It’s one of my favorite ways to unwind after a full day of teaching, creating content, and taking care of our home.

Vibration Plate
Five to ten minutes on the vibration plate is an easy way to wake up my body before we dive into the day.
Sometimes I use it while checking emails or planning lessons.
It’s an easy habit that helps me fit more movement into busy days.
Daily Habits That Cost Almost Nothing
Some of the most valuable things we do each day don’t cost much at all.
We prioritize:
- Morning sunshine
- Drinking plenty of water
- Reading together
- Outdoor play
- Daily movement
- Family meals
- Consistent routines
These simple habits create a strong foundation for learning.
Supporting Healthy Routines
One wellness product we’ve added this year is saffron gummies for the girls.
Combined with good sleep, nourishing food, outdoor play, and consistent routines, they’ve become another simple part of supporting our family’s daily wellness.
As always, I believe supplements work best alongside healthy habits—not as a replacement for them.

Final Thoughts
Back-to-school doesn’t have to mean adding more to your schedule.
For our family, it’s actually about simplifying.
Creating peaceful routines.
Encouraging curiosity.
Making room for movement.
Supporting our health.
And remembering that learning happens far beyond the pages of a workbook.
Whether your children are heading to public school, private school, or learning at home, I hope this list gives you a few ideas for creating a calmer, healthier school year.
I’d love to know—what’s one product or routine your family never starts the school year without?
